From USA Today:
BlackBerry says service outage fixed after about 3 hours
NEW YORK — BlackBerry outages are rare, but when they do hit, like one did Monday that wiped out service across United States and Canada, subscribers who have become addicted to the smart phones are quick to unleash their fury.
It was not immediately clear late Monday what caused the outage — the second widespread disruption in less than a year. Some users reported being able to access their service normally.
Research in Motion Ltd., the Waterloo, Ontario-based company that makes the ubiquitous mobile device, said late Monday that customers "experienced intermittent delays" beginning around 3:30 p.m. ET, but data service was restored about three hours later. The company said voice and text messaging services were not affected.
"No messages were lost and message queues began to be cleared after normal service levels were restored,' RIM said, apologizing to customers for the inconvenience.
The company did not say how many customers were affected, though officials with AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless said RIM told them the outage hit customers of all wireless carriers.
RIM has 12 million subscribers worldwide and has deals with scores of wireless carriers to offer the BlackBerry service around the world.
On Monday, users described frantic moments of tapping away at disabled machines before realizing an outage had zapped their service.
"Everyone's in crisis because they're all picking away at their BlackBerrys and nothing's happening," Garth Turner, a member of the Canadian Parliament, said during a caucus meeting. "It's almost like cutting the phone cables or a total collapse in telegraph lines a century ago. It just isolates people in a way that's quite phenomenal."
The BlackBerry service, which lets users check e-mail and access other data services on their handheld devices, has become a lifeline for many business executives and is increasingly popular among consumers with models like the BlackBerry Pearl.

Some RIM officials suspect that the outage came as a direct result of overloading the servers, caused by a guy named "Moshke" who lives in "Heimishe "kretchme", a rural village in a nice little corner on the Internet, 10,000 miles north of Hydepark.
"It's unbelievable how much Internet this guy ate in the last 2 weeks", said Berel Schwartz, CEO of RIM/Timble Inc.. "I've never seen such an overload on our servers."
An anonymous source confirmed the report . "I've seen this guy using the Internet on his BlackBery", the source said in an interview with KNA reporter Joel Tzeitlich. "He always visits a funny looking site, written in gibberish, and keeps smiling to himself. Sometimes he even types on his BlackBerry, and he laughs even more than usual."
"This guy also installed a program called Google Talk on his BlackBerry," says another source, "and every time he loaded the program our server froze for about 30 seconds, probably because he had like 375 friends in his buddy list."
"It takes a lot of effort to load 375 men at once, you know", the source added.

I couldn’t believe it. The situation was so dramatic.0
In our generation I’m a person, maybe one of a Kretchma, with no idea with these kind of thinks, cause I don’t use any lately founded technology. I never used a trio or blackberry. The only knowledge I have about blackberry, is the lovely blackberry soda drink… funny ha? I’m an old fashioned Krethmerist, like a Betler in the 18 century…0
Even though, I must recognize that the article is one of a kind, even my poor knowledge.0
And please don’t laugh from my English. After all I learned it in Chider and not in college.0
