Two $1 million Powerball winners in Brooklyn have yet to cash in big-money tickets, and they’re running out of time.
“No one has come forward,” said Jaianty Deopaul, the manager at a Thriftway Pharmacy on Prospect Park South, where someone picked the lucky numbers on May 15, 2013. “We hope they do. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.”
A second mystery winner at the nearby Shop Smart Food Mart on Prospect Park West still hadn’t claimed the prize money as Monday’s end-of-day deadline neared, state gaming officials said.
Any unclaimed money goes back into the pool for future jackpots.
The Shop Smart winning numbers were 06-13-19-23-43. Only the Powerball number of 16 was wrong.
The Thriftway winner correctly picked 02-11-26-34-41, missing the Powerball number of 32.
Workers at the Church Ave. shop are holding out hope as they remind customers to double check their tickets.
“I wish the person would come forward,” Deopaul said.
